Project: Central Baptist Hospital Surgery Addition/Renovation

Location: Lexington, Kentucky

This project for Central Baptist Hospital involves the addition of over 12,000 sf and the renovation of the existing 35,000 sf surgery department. The addition houses nine new 25x25 operating rooms—five cardio, two ortho, one neuro, and one cysto-- with sub-sterile and scrub areas between. A new elevator has been installed to connect the CSR Department on the first floor to increase the flow of supplies and staff. The new PACU adds 18 beds. Support areas have been provided for storage for Ortho and Open Heart as well as open heart profusion space. New offices for clinical managers and surgery administrative staff have also been provided. The addition portion of this project was completed in 2003. The renovation of existing space will be ongoing until the Summer of 2005.
