At the time of construction, the iMRI at Norton Hospital was one of only four locations in the United States, including Harvard and Stanford Universities, and one of just eleven centers worldwide. It provides minimally invasive surgery. The ultimate in computer-assisted, imagfe-guided surgery, the Intra-Operative Magnetic Resonance Imaging (iMRI) Center enables physicians from Norton Hospital and Kosair Children’s Hospital to view MRI images live and in “real time” during surgery. This capability allows physicians to be more precise during surgery, shortens recovery time, improves surgical results and lowers medical costs – all which translate into a markedly enhanced level of patient care.
