Project: Norton Suburban Hospital Emergency Room Renovation/Expansion
Location: Louisville, Kentucky
This project involved the renovation of the existing 5,200 square-foot Norton Suburban ER Department (which was built in the early 1980’s) as well as adding onto the existing facility at the north and south ends. Upon completion, the total area of the new facility was roughly 14,400 square feet. The design of the interior is based on a “racetrack” type organization with the Nurses’ Stations, and other service/support areas located in the center and the service areas, such as the Exam Rooms, located around the periphery. This organization allows for greater functionality in the day to day operations of the ER Department. Construction of the project was completed in two phases as to allow the ER Department to stay up and running during construction.
