Project: Samaritan Hospital Master Plan

Location: Lexington, Kentucky

A 10-month planning process provided analysis of the hospital site, buildings and each department. A variety of seven planning options were developed and presented to reach a consensus among the focus group. Cost estimates and phasing of the project were also developed. The hospital’s Urban Campus Plan focused on zoning, land use and connecting properties for functional relationships. The first phase of the master plan was implemented during the planning process to develop a visible entrance through demolition of existing structures and create a physician’s recruitment program. A master plan for interior design services was also provided for + 30,000 square feet of physician’s offices at the Professional Arts Center on Maxwell Street, across from the main campus of the University of Kentucky.
